Friends Meeting House (Quaker Hall)
Friends Meeting House is a practice hall owned by the Society of Friends, sometimes know as “Quakers”. The building contains a carpeted meeting room, paneled walls, a small kitchen, and bathrooms. It is a lovely quiet space for zazen and used by a number of Buddhist groups for meetings during the week.
Friends Meeting House is located near Courtenay Place at 7 Moncrieff St. in Mt. Victoria, Wellington.
Take a left off Kent Terrace onto Elizabeth St, then first right into Moncrieff St. Friends Meeting House is the red brick building in the corner on the left at the end of the street (use the Street View in the Google Map below to see the building). See you there!
The Hataitai Zendo is located at Shinko Sensei’s home on Hataitai Road, Hataitai, Wellington, and easily accessible by public transport from the city. The zendo seats up to 10 practitioners and several small children.
