Retreat and programme fees are set at a level to only cover the costs of venue rental, food, and overheads. We encourage participants to consider offering dana (Sanskrit = “donation”) to the teacher for his services. Dana can be given at any time. Offerings made directly into the GMZ bank account should be referenced as “Dana”.

Friends Meeting House is a practice hall owned by the Society of Friends, sometimes known as “Quakers”. The building contains a carpeted meeting room, paneled walls, a small kitchen, and bathrooms. It is a lovely quiet space for zazen and used by a number of Buddhist groups for meetings during the week.

Friends Meeting House is located near Courtenay Place at 7 Moncrieff St. in Mt. Victoria, Wellington.Take a left off Kent Terrace onto Elizabeth St, then first right into Moncrieff St. Friends Meeting House is the red brick building in the corner on the left at the end of the street (use the Street View in the Google Map to see the building).

Breaker Bay Hall is located in the seaside suburb of Breaker Bay at 155 Breaker Bay Hall. We meet here for our Sunday sits on the last Sunday of each month.

Strathean Retreat Centre is located on the Kapiti Coast (near Te Horo and Otaki), and features 10 beautiful acres of flat countryside surrounded by native totara forests.

The centre has recently been acquired by new owners and features a number of refurbishments and a new space devoted to contemplative practices.
